| Gynecomastia and Marijuana |  Gynecomastia, also known as man boobs, is an abnormal growing in the chest area of males. This cosmetic condition makes the male chest appear feminine. The emotional consequences of this condition can be severe, because little can be done to hide from view or cover Gynecomastia. It can either be cured to decrease or get rid of, or it can be suffered.
Gynecomastia has a variety of causes, which range from genetic syndromes to an unhealthy nutrition. One of the most well-known beliefs about this condition is that it can also be brought about by the use of the illegal drug, Marijuana.
Certain studies which involved animals and humans have been reported to show that Marijuana use lowers levels of the male hormone, Testosterone. This can lead to a number of things like decreased sperm count, a shrinking of the testicles, and the outburst of Gynecomastia. It certainly stands to reason that as male hormones lessen, the hormonal balance in the male body will move towards the feminine side which will in turn start certain feminization modifications in the body, one of which is Gynecomastia.
On the other hand, other studies have been incapable to copy these earlier studies and some say that the connection between Marijuana use and Gynecomastia is nothing but a myth. Still, you should be aware that the use of Marijuana carries a number of dangerous side effects which alone should be enough inducement to stop using this illegal substance. As to the connection between it and Gynecomastia, additional study is required.
