| Possible Risks and Benefits | A breast lift is very complex operation, but it's usually not dangerous when it is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. However, as with any other surgery, there is always a risk of complications or a reaction to the anesthesia. Bleeding and infection following a breast lift are rare, but they can cause scars to extend. If you want to reduce your risks you have to follow the advices of your surgeon closely both before and after surgery.
Mastopexy will leave obvious and permanent scars, while they'll be covered by your bra or bathing suit. If you smoke you will have poor healing and wider scars. The procedure can also leave you with irregularly positioned nipples, or a lasting loss of feeling in your nipples or breasts.
