1. Breast implants get ruptured all the time.
Although, it does occur sometimes, good breast implants do not get ruptured as frequently as some people consider they would. It is necessary to point out, that the majority of breast implants are designed of a good material, which is strong enough to be punched, pulled and stomped on, and even thrown against the wall and after all these procedures it will not pop.
Moreover, all breast implants undergo so to say “strength examination” – they are squeezed in quite a rough way between two metal plates at 200 compressions per minute about two millions times. Still, according to the data, obtained from the Institute of Medicine, the deflation rate for saline breast implants is about 7% at every 7 years. The same institute has estimated, that 1 to 3% of nowadays saline – filled breast implants would have get ruptured by the first year, and that this rate would become increase as the time goes. In addition, according to one study, most modern models represent a 5 to 10% rupture rate after 10 years. As for the breast implants, made of silicone, this institute estimated, that less than 10% of nowadays silicone gel – filled breast implants would have get ruptured by 5 years and that the rupture rate would keep on increasing as the time goes.
Thus, the reality is that although there are no breast implants, which will serve all the time, still those ones, of a good quality do not get ruptured all the time as well.

2. As soon as the breast implant is placed in the body, it is changed forever.
This is a complete lie! No breast implant’s chemical make – up gets changed after it enters the body! The elastomer remains just the same as it goes inside the body, as it was in the box. All breast implants are designed in such a way that they are able to withstand the body’s fluids. Therefore, it should also be mentioned, that in accordance to some investigations, the breast implant should be expected to degrade (though, just a little bit) after being years in the body. And, in addition, there are no breast implants, which will last forever, this is why every person, who has had them implanted is to expect to have a replacement surgery (and, maybe, even several of them) somewhat later in the course of his or her life.

3. It is possible to get a fungus infection from the saline – filled breast implant.
A lot of researches, conducted, have proved, that there is no known fungus, virus or any other infectious agent, which can permeate the elastomer shell of an intact breast implant. None of them can either get in or out. Still, there is the only thing, which can permeate the shell without any problems – it is water. Therefore, even the molecules of salt, which are present in saline, can not escape.
As for a fungus or even a fungal spore, it is too big to be able to permeate the breast implant’s shell. Still, there were times, when it was quite possible that he breast implant would become contaminated while it was being filled, still, then it was sealed and whatever contamination got into it, was not able to get out. These early implants were filled with a kind of fluid, which is called Dextran, and this fluid was found to be able to sustain fungal infections. As for nowadays implants, they are being filled right from a sterile bag of saline with the help of a closed system. And the entire filling system is designed to be sterile.
