Implants Problems

-Deflation is a rupture of an implant. This may happens with saline implants. This condition is typically quite noticeable for the reason that the augmentation result is quickly lost over the course of a day or two. Even though the saline is safely absorbed by the body, substitute of the implant should be conducted within a few weeks to keep the pocket from shrinking. In case if patient has silicone implants, rupture may be less evident and may need additional testing to verify, like an ultrasound or MRI. The majority of implants used today have a full substitute guarantee that will supply you with replacement implant(s) at no price to you. Depending on how long it has been from the time of your original operation, you may also be entitled for financial support towards the operating room costs as well.

-Capsular contracture is a condition when your body forms a thick scar around the implant(s). This may happen on one or both sides and may lead to a shape change, uneasiness, and may cause the breast to feel firmer. It may be more frequent following infection or hematoma. Capsular contracture is not so common and not so severe with saline implants than with silicone implants.

Four grades of capsular contracture exist, they are:
Grade I - the breast is normally soft and looks natural
Grade II - the breast is firm a little but looks normal
Grade III - the breast is firm and looks abnormal
Grade IV - the breast is hard, quite often painful, and looks very anomalous

-Disappointment with the size of your implants (either too small or too large) - the most common motive why women have a second operation. They want to change the size of their implants (more commonly selecting a larger implant). Dissatisfaction with your implant size should be completely avertable by a thorough evaluation and decision-making process.

Combination Problems
-Double Bubble occurs when there is the form of the round breast sitting on top of a round breast implant. This may stand for a problem with the tissue characteristics as well as a problem with the surgical placement of the implants and may happen on one or both sides

-Rippling stands for the condition when irregularities of the implant surface are felt or seen through the skin. This may occur as a result of a attenuating of the tissue covering the implants, may result from an implant that is underfilled or leaking, and may signify a placement problem like an implant being placed over the muscle of the chest wall or some combination of these events.

-Implant visibility being able to see the outline of the implants through the skin.

-Implant palpability being able to feel the implants beneath the skin.
