Breast Augmentation FAQs
Breast Augmentation FAQs

1. Will a woman be able to breast feed after the breast augmentation surgery?
Because neither the breast tissue nor the ducts are cut, affected or disturbed in any other way, breast augmentation is not the contraindication for breastfeeding. As a rule women, who have had the breast augmentation procedure conducted, and who have the experience of feeding a baby with their own breast milk, do not feel any difference during the breastfeeding process with implants than without.
It had been considered that breastfeeding with silicone implants would harm the baby, though multiple studies have proved that the silicone molecule is too large to pass into the milk ducts. And there is no evidence that silicon from the implant shell is able to enter the milk.

2. Is it possible to achieve some lifting of sagging breasts with the help of implants?
In case of a moderate to severe sag, a breast lifting procedure or a lifting procedure with implants is what the woman needs to be performed. As for the mere implants, they are not normally designed to lift up a sagging breast, though they can help mildly sagging breasts seem somewhat less saggy. The implants do this in two following ways:
1) Some of the slack in loosened skin can be taken up with the help of the implants, which will increase the volume and decrease the saggy look of the breast.
2) With the help of breast implants the lower portion of the breast gets rotated in an upward direction to a mild extend, which will provide the breast look somewhat less saggy.

3. Will breasts with implants experience sagging over time?
It is usual that any breasts get more relaxed as time passes by; the main reasons of this are:
The person’s weight makes the skin more stretched;
The skin elasticity gets lost with age;
The amount of breast tissue gets decreased as the woman becomes older.
These are the three factors, which point out that it is normally that the breasts get relaxed and sag no matter if there is breast implants present or not. As for the implants themselves, they do add some weight to the breast, which can increase the rate of relaxation to some degree; in addition, breast implants along with the scar tissue around them can provide some internal support for the breasts. This all may result in the breast sagging less, but more so only in case if the woman would wear a bra, which fits properly, in a regular manner. Such a woman will not be able to go without this bra for the rest of her life, once she gets the implants.
