1. Cooper’s Ligament is called a strong ligamentous band, which extends in upward and backward directions beginning from the base of Gimbernat’s ligament and along the iliopectineal line, to which is gets attached. It is considered to be the connective tissue attachments of the mammary gland to the overlying skin. This part of the breast is named in honor of Cooper, who published a work on the anatomy and diseases of the breast, in which these ligaments were described.
2. Pectoralis major is the name of a larger chest muscle, which gets arised from the cartilages and the sternum of most of the ribs, as well as of the aponeurosis of the external oblique muscle. It is inserted by a strong flat tendon into the posterios bicipital ridge of the humerus.
3. Pectoralis minor is called somewhat smaller chest muscle, which is situated below the larger one. It arises form the third, fourth and firth ribs, and it is inserted by a flat tendom into the coracoid process of the scapula.
4. Connective tissue is the tissue, which is mesodermal in its origin. This tissue is rich in intercellular substance or interlacing processes, and there is very little tendency for the cells to come together and form any sheets and / or masses. Therefore, talking more specifically, connective tissue consists of stellate or spindle – shaped cells, which works by pervading, supporting and binding together other tissues with the aim of forming ligaments, tendoms and / or aponeuroses.
5. Blood vessels are the vessels, through which blood can circulate in the body.
6. Ribs are called paired curved bony or partly cartilaginous rods, which stiffen the lateral walls of the body most vertebrates. In addition, ribs also provide protection to the viscera, which occurs in mammals exclusively or practically exclusively in the thoracic region. Normally human body includes 12 pairs of ribs, of which all are articulated with the spinal column at the dorsal end. As for the first 10, they are connected also at the ventral end with the sternum costal cartilages.
7. Subcutaneous fat is the fat, which is located under the skin.
